In Memoriam: Michael Jackson

I hold in my hands Michael Jackson’s Thriller 25. With Jackson’s passing I saw Martin Bishir’s “Living with Michael Jackson” and “The Michael Jackson Interview: The Footage You Were Never Meant to See” hosted by Maury. I believe Michael was innocent. Not just in the legal sense, but in his heart as well. The children who would visit him at Neverland Ranch were Make-A-Wish Foundation kids, who wanted to see Michael before they died. Even Bishir himself said to Michael that it wasn’t what he thought. That seeing those kids spending a day with Michael at Neverland was a “spiritually uplifting” experience for Bishir. (It is vipers like Bishir that made Michael become even more of a recluse.)

Michael’s passing feels like the end of an era.

And so, it serves as another reminder: Christ is our only hope. Because his kingdom is the only kingdom that is an everlasting kingdom. And if you’re reading this, I hope you have accepted his invitation. He is the King. Read the Gospels for yourself. Go straight to the Gospels. And if you so desire, you will meet the King of kings.
